Automated Waitlist: Improved visibility and functionality

💡 Did you know?
When your calendar is full, clients can opt-in to join your Waitlist for their preferred day(s). If a spot opens up, Booksy automatically sends them an SMS invitation to book the slot—keeping your schedule full without you lifting a finger.

Now we’ve improved the Waitlist, so it's easier to see when clients are on your list, and to take action to match them with an open slot.

  • Manage on the go: The Waitlist is now available on the Booksy Biz app on your phone! Spot waiting clients instantly by looking for the exclamation mark (!) alert on your Calendar icon, or view the full list directly within your daily calendar.
  • Actionable alerts: When a client is waiting for a specific day, a new Waitlist button will appear on your calendar. Click it to see all waiting clients and their contact info so you can call or message them about the opening in seconds.


With this update, better visibility and functionality help you fill empty slots faster than ever. Now, you’ll always know when a client is waiting for a spot, so you can quickly fill openings in your calendar or open up availability based on demand.

Note: Some profiles are temporarily excluded from the new booking flow (like businesses using No-Show Protection or offering Mobile Services). Don’t worry—they’ll roll into the new experience soon.

  • Customized access for each person: Fine-tune permissions for each team member. Decide who can use Checkout, view other calendars, or access client info—all with a simple toggle.
  • New! Staff Self-Checkout: Speed up your front desk. Let Basic Staffers check out their own appointments without giving them access to sensitive business info.
