Barbercon 2024 in Orlando wasn’t just a showcase of barbering excellence—it was a stage where innovation, artistry, and culture came alive, and Booksy was at the heart of it all. This year, we elevated our presence with engaging programming, unforgettable experiences, and a community-driven focus that made a lasting impact on attendees. Booksy made sure attendees felt appreciated, offering exclusive VIP gift bags. These bags weren’t just swag—they reflected the care we put into supporting the barbering community, providing tools and products that enhance their daily grind and add a touch of luxury.
One of the most anticipated moments of Barbercon 2024 was the masterclass “Grow Your Bookings with Social Content,” featuring US Ambassador, Sam the Barber. Barbers from all walks of life gathered to gain insights on refining their craft, expanding their clientele, and harnessing the power of social media. Sam shared her journey navigating the industry as a female barber and her impact as an educator.
“Barbering is more than a job—it’s a platform for creating connections and building confidence,” Sam said. “Being an educator allows me to empower others to reach their full potential.”
Attendees left the session buzzing with ideas, energized by the candid conversations and actionable strategies shared. Whether it was learning how to engage clients through social content, navigating industry challenges, or building a thriving business, the panel offered something for everyone.
The For the Culture podcast experience, hosted by Lonnie Horne & Timmel Pittman of United Barber’s Club and sponsored by Booksy, brought the crowd together for raw, authentic conversations about the barbering world. Industry leaders like Mr. BlendKing and Brandi LaShay Barberdoll shared their journeys and explored the evolving role of barbers in shaping community culture. The event buzzed with energy as barbers came eager to connect, laugh, and learn.
Reflecting on the experience, Lonnie Horne shared, “Teaming up with Booksy was unforgettable—real barbers, real stories, and tools that are changing the game.” Timmel Pittman added, “Our live podcast with Booksy ambassadors was all about sharing real-life experiences and why Booksy is the number one app in the industry.” “
One of the most amazing pieces of the experience was the fact that all the Booksy Ambassadors and team instantly connected, and moved like a Booksy family”, shared the hosts of United Barber’s Club.
The atmosphere at BarberCon Orlando was electric. As Timmel noted, “United Barber’s Club and Booksy created the ultimate space for barbers to connect and see firsthand how the app helps us thrive in this fast-paced industry.” Lonnie summed up the event perfectly: “We had a FUNKY GOOD TIME. Thank you, Booksy!”
Brandi LaShay Barber Doll’s conversation struck an emotional chord, as she shared what fuels her passion for the industry and how her journey led to working with celebrity clients. “What excites me most is the constant evolution of our industry,” Brandi explained. “Staying motivated is about embracing growth, adapting, and remembering why I started—to uplift others through my work.”
Mr. BlendKing emphasized the importance of fostering community and shared his path to barbershop ownership. He highlighted how essential Booksy has been in growing his clientele and managing his business. “Community is everything,” Mr. BlendKing said. “Barbershops are more than places to get a cut—they’re spaces where people connect, share stories, and feel seen. Tools like Booksy have helped me grow, not just as a barber, but as a business owner.”
One of the most exciting parts of Barbercon was the live demos. Watching top barbers perform their craft in real-time is always a showstopper. Whether it was intricate designs, fresh fades, or unique approaches to classic cuts, these demonstrations were a testament to the artistry in barbering.
What stands out most about Barbercon is the sense of community. It’s more than just an event—it’s a family reunion for barbers. The Booksy Ambassadors and team instantly connected, moving like a close-knit family. Attendees reconnected with old friends, met new faces, and swapped tips with others who share the same passion for the craft.
As Barbercon 2024 wrapped up, one thing was clear: the future of barbering is brighter than ever. Our time in Orlando was a reminder of how far the industry has come—and how much further we can go when we work together. Booksy is proud to be part of this journey, supporting barbers in their craft and businesses.
