How to use processing time to get more business

With many services, such as hair treatments that use chemicals or cosmetic facial and body treatments, time is needed to let the service take effect. While the treatment is processing, you don’t need to stand there and watch (that would be both unproductive, and a little weird).

But taking other clients is a game of strategic double-booking, which can take lot of time negotiating to fill in the right spots with short enough services to prevent anyone from waiting. This is why Booksy has created a processing time feature that creates a blocks the time for the application, while leaving the time for processing open for other clients to book.

How processing time works:

Let’s say a client wants to get a simple all-over color, which takes about 90 minutes. However, the processing time is 30 minutes. The client books a time for 90 minutes (which is when they will be in the chair). However, you are only unavailable for 60 minutes. The other 30 minutes is free for another booking, such as a haircut. So in those 90 minutes you can fit two clients in- no confusion, no phone calls, no wait.

Highlights of processing time:

Add a processing time at any point of the service- even at the end: Different services require different lengths of time for application and processing. Booksy makes it easy to set these for each service. e.g. 90 minute service, with 50 minute application, 30 minute processing time, and 10 minute wash & style.

You’d just select 90 minutes for the length, and set the processing time as 0h:30mins after 0h:50mins. You can even add a processing time at the very end of the service (especially if the client has booked a follow-up service, like a haircut).

Processing start time is adjustable for individual clients: Need a bit more time for application on a particular client? No problem. You can drag and drop the processing time just like any other service. As long as it is still attached to the service, processing time is flexible.
