Hi! It’s your girl, China Nails, and I want to talk about NailPro Nail Show 2024, a nail show based out this year in sunny California, specifically in the state of Sacramento, because it was quite an experience! This year, it was more than just an event—it was an electrifying gathering of creativity, community, and next-level passion for nail artistry. What made this year so memorable wasn’t just the stunning designs and techniques on display, but the deep sense of connection that radiated throughout the show.
It was so exciting to attend the event as a Booksy ambassador and be a part of two days' worth of curated Booksy experiences – from the meet and greets at the Booksy booth, to serving as a Nailympia Competition Judge, and enjoying refreshments while charging up my tech (shooting content drains your battery!) at the Booksy Power Lounge, it was all a blast.
One of the highlights for me personally was getting the opportunity to spend time at the Booksy booth with Hirsch (@nailsbyhirsch), meeting and greeting fans. I loved taking selfies with every one of you! It was incredible to see how many people came out to show their love and support. Whether the nail technicians were seasoned professionals or just starting their journey in the nail world, the energy was buzzing at the show. The trends I was loving were Dual Chrome, Vivid Tips, and Aura Nails. The latest concepts in nails were 3D sculptural and seriously avante-garde, and of course the nail community was loving the Booksy app for an easy way to run their business. The crowd favorite feature was the Book Now button, of course!
Hirsch and I shared so many meaningful conversations with fellow artists and fans alike. It was a reminder of how special this community truly is—an open, supportive space where we uplift each other. Being part of the NailPro show highlights just how dedicated Booksy is to supporting and empowering the nail community, as well as driving the industry forward. They don’t just make promises—they follow through with real action, and the level of support I've experienced has been genuinely inspiring

This year, Hirsch took on an exciting role as the MC for the NailPro competitions. Watching him bring his signature charisma and style to the stage was a treat! He kept the crowd hyped and made sure everyone was engaged from start to finish. Meanwhile, I had the honor of stepping into the judge’s seat for this year’s competitions. I loved the themes for this year’s competitions, like Black Tie Affair, Creative Chrome, and 3D Nails. The talent on display was nothing short of awe-inspiring. Every competitor brought their A-game, showcasing everything from intricate hand-painted designs to avant-garde nail art that truly pushed boundaries.

Being part of the judging process gave me a new level of appreciation for the skill, creativity, and hard work that each artist put into their designs. It was a challenge to select winners with such incredible talent in the room, but it was also a reminder of how bright the future of this industry is. We’re not just following trends—we’re setting them! The bold, innovative designs we saw this year are proof of that.
I’ve got to Shoutout to all the winners – Chrome: Liliana Martinez, of Dallas, Texas, won first place, Nethan Ngyuen, of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, took second place, and Scarlett Wooldrik, of Omaha, Nebraska, won third place. Sculpted: Alexandra Molnar, of Walnut Creek, California, took home first place and Sandra Mata Hernandez, of Paradise, California, took second. 3D: This time Sandra Mata Hernandez, took home first place, Ashley Stevenson, of Sacramento, California, took second place, and Yu Zhang, of Milpitas, California, took third. Black Tie Affair: Now Yu Zhang takes the gold, Rhiana Trone, of Pasadena, California, took second, and Khrystyna Andreikiv, of Livermore, California, took third.
One of the most touching moments came during the NailPro Awards Ceremony. Hirsch and I were both on stage for the announcement of the Nail Artist of the Year, and seeing the joy in each winner’s eyes when their names were called was truly special.
Reflecting on this year’s NailPro Nail Show, I’m struck by the sense of community we’ve built. This event wasn’t just about showcasing talent—it was about sharing, learning, and growing together as artists. From the fans at the Booksy booth to the competitors giving it all they’ve got, the show was a powerful reminder of the creativity and passion that unite us all.
